Katharina Roth

The main interest of Katharina Roth's musical work lies in the field of chamber music. She tries to push instrumental boundaries with her music and create very fine, intimate and and at the same time fragile sounds. After training as a church musician, she studied composition and piano at the Lübeck University of Music. Based on her interest in working with voice, she studied Dhrupad singing in India in 2015/16. She then came to Vienna to study music therapy and also completed a master's degree in composition at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. She has worked with many renowned ensembles, including the Neue Vokalsolisten Stuttgart. During her residency in Krems, she will be working on a piece for violin, viola, cello, double bass, piano and video for the Schallfeld Ensemble, the world premiere of which is planned for October 19, 2024 in the Florentinersaal in Graz.
